Manchester, Missouri, to honor first responders this week for 9/11 anniversary

The City of Manchester, Missouri, will hold a special ceremony this week to honor first responders on the 21st anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

The ceremony will be held at the Manchester Fire Department on Friday, September 9th, at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony will include a presentation of colors by the Manchester Police Department, a performance of the national anthem by the Manchester High School choir, and remarks from Mayor Mike Clement and Fire Chief Matt Holloway. After that, there will be a moment of silence to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks and to honor the first responders who risked their lives to save others.

The ceremony is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

The City of Manchester is proud to honor our first responders for their dedication and service to our community. We are grateful for their bravery and sacrifice, and we will never forget the sacrifices they made on 9/11.

In addition to the ceremony, the City of Manchester will also be participating in the National Moment of Remembrance on Sunday, September 11th. At 8:46 a.m., the time that the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center, all Americans are asked to pause for a moment of silence to remember the victims of the attacks.

The City of Manchester encourages all residents to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance and to honor the victims and first responders of 9/11.
