ECU Safety Officials and Fans Gearing Up for Football Season Opener

Security Measures in Place

Football season is almost here, and East Carolina University officials are working with local law enforcement agencies to ensure game day safety. A variety of security measures will be in place at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

  • Fans attending games will be subject to bag checks.
  • ECU Police officers and Pitt County Sheriff's deputies will be patrolling the stadium grounds.
  • ECU's clear bag policy will be in effect.

Fan Safety Tips

In addition to the security measures being taken by officials, there are a few things fans can do to help ensure their own safety:

  • Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to stadium staff or law enforcement.
  • Stay hydrated by bringing plenty of water.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as you may be standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask a stadium staff member for assistance.

Traffic and Parking

Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium early to avoid traffic and find parking.

  • Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is located at 1000 E. 10th Street in Greenville, NC.
  • There are several parking lots available around the stadium.
  • Fans can also park in the Greenville Convention Center parking garage.
  • ECU Transit will be offering free shuttle service from off-campus locations to the stadium.

Ticket Information

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid lines at the stadium.

  • Tickets can be purchased at the ECU Athletics Ticket Office in the Murphy Center.
