Chiefs Rb Isiah Pacheco Set To Go On Ir Miss At Least Four Games After Suffering Lower Leg Injury Vs Bengals

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco To Miss At Least Four Games

Pacheco Suffered A Lower Leg Injury Against The Bengals

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco is set to miss at least the next four games after suffering a lower leg injury in the team's Week 17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. At a press conference on Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said that Pacheco would be placed on injured reserve, which means he will miss at least the next four games. Pacheco suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Chiefs' 27-24 loss to the Bengals. He was tackled awkwardly by Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson and immediately grabbed at his leg. He was helped off the field and did not return to the game.

The Chiefs did not immediately provide an update on the severity of Pacheco's injury, but Reid said on Monday that he is expected to miss at least the next four games. The Chiefs have a bye in Week 18, so Pacheco could potentially return for the team's Divisional Round playoff game on January 21 or 22.

Pacheco Has Been A Key Contributor For The Chiefs This Season

Pacheco has been a key contributor for the Chiefs this season, rushing for 830 yards and five touchdowns on 158 carries. He has also caught 15 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

In Pacheco's absence, the Chiefs will likely turn to Jerick McKinnon and Ronald Jones to carry the load at running back. McKinnon has rushed for 413 yards and two touchdowns on 85 carries this season, while Jones has rushed for 284 yards and a touchdown on 62 carries.

The Chiefs will need to find a way to replace Pacheco's production in the running game, as he has been a key part of their offense this season. The Chiefs are currently 13-3 and have already clinched the AFC West division title. They are also the No. 1 seed in the AFC and have a first-round bye in the playoffs.
