Tearful Vigil For Boys Killed In Liverpool

Tearful vigil for boys killed in Liverpool

Three cousins were stabbed to death in a 'savage' attack

Residents have laid flowers and released balloons at a vigil for three cousins who were stabbed to death in Liverpool.

The boys, aged 11, 13, and 15, were found injured in the city's Kensington area on Sunday night, but died from stab wounds in hospital. Police have charged 18-year-old Jake Henderson with their murder.

Mourners gathered in Southport on Tuesday evening to remember the victims, who have been named as James, John, and Thomas.

A large crowd of people, many of them children, gathered at the vigil, which was held on the town's Marine Lake. Members of the public laid flowers and released balloons in memory of the victims.

One mourner, who did not wish to be named, said: "It's just so sad. I can't imagine what the families must be going through." Another mourner, who said she was friends with the victims' family, said: "They were such lovely boys. They didn't deserve this."

The vigil was organized by a local resident who said she wanted to show support for the victims' families. She said: "I just wanted to do something to show the families that they're not alone."
